Back-to-School Bash at Central Park Square caps successful School Supply Drive
August 19, 2010—Nearly 60 Laboratory employees and their family members participated in the "Kicks for Kids" 3-kilometer fun walk Wednesday as part of the Back-to-School Bash at Central Park Square. The event culminated this year's School Supply Drive to collect backpacks and school supplies for Northern New Mexico school children. A total of $1,320 was raised from the fun walk; all proceeds go to the LANL Laces program. Lab employees donated more than 1,000 backpacks, many of which were filled with school supplies for Northern New Mexico School children just in time for the start of a new school year.
