Contact: James Rickman, (505) 665-9203 (00-007) DOE and Laboratory to hold January ER Project 'availability session'LOS ALAMOS, N.M., Jan. 14, 2000 -- The U.S. Department of Energy and Los Alamos National Laboratory are announcing the next session in a series of Environmental Restoration Project information "availability sessions" for local governments, tribes, and the public. This month's availability session will be held January 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Laboratory's Community Reading Room, 1619 Central Ave., Los Alamos. "The purpose of these meetings is to discuss current ER Project issues with governments, tribes, and the public. We plan to hold these sessions on an ongoing basis," said Julie Canepa, manager of the Laboratory's ER Project. "When we held these meetings several years ago, it gave the members of the public a chance to sit down with us in an informal setting and talk about ER project issues and events of interest to them. We want these productive interactions to continue." Availability sessions are planned for the third Wednesday of each month. Times and locations will be announced on the Laboratory's web site. Those who want more information about the sessions can contact Carmen M. Rodriguez with the ER Project Communications and Outreach Team at (505) 665-6770 or 1-800-508-4400, or by e-mail at carmenr@lanl.gov.
