Night of the living enzyme . . . and more

February 9, 2007

The latest issue of DOE Pulse is available online. Pulse is an online newsletter about accomplishments at the Department of Energy's national laboratories.

In addition to the highlights, DOE Pulse features two longer articles -- one about a researcher and one about a multilab collaborative effort.

Some of the headlines in this issue are "Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory's new hard X-ray microprobe" from Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, "Night of the living enzyme" from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, "Simulating nuclear contraband" from Sandia National Laboratories, and "Atom-scale switch" from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

There also is a profile on Alfred Garrett from Savannah River National Laboratory and a feature on an insulating breakthrough from Argonne National Laboratory.
