Director updates employees on RRW review meetingDecember 4, 2006
Director Michael Anastasio updated employees Friday on the Nuclear Weapons Council's meeting last Thursday in Washington, D.C., to review the Los Alamos and Livermore Reliable Replacement Warhead (RRW) designs. In a LANL-ALL memo, Anastasio noted that he was honored to advocate his confidence in the success of the Los Alamos RRW design. "The quality of our design and engineering work is a tribute to the technical excellence and innovation of the Los Alamos and Sandia staff," said Anastasio. He also noted that "the strength of the Los Alamos design in the several critical areas, including safety and security (surety) important in today's threat environment was highlighted for the NWC. The NWC was briefed on our ability to certify the New Mexico RRW design using the tools of stewardship without underground testing."
