Ergonomics expo is Wednesday at TA-35October 23, 2006
October is National Ergonomics Month
The final scheduled ergonomics expo to raise awareness of ergonomics is Wednesday at Technical Area 35. October is National Ergonomics Month and the Industrial Hygiene and Safety (IHS) Division sponsored the expos and other events to raise awareness of the importance of ergonomics. The ergonomics expo is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Building 2 Conference Room at TA-35 and is open to all Laboratory workers. The expo includes demonstrations of office equipment and other resources. "Ergonomics is the adaptation of the work and workplace to the person, and ergonomic-related hazards are the Laboratory's most common injury source," said Kerith Stender of Institutional Programs (IHS-IP), ergonomics team leader. The Daily Newsbulletin and Los Alamos NewsLetter are publishing ergonomics safety tips periodically this month that employees can use at work and at home. For a schedule of ergonomics related events at the Lab this month, go to http://int.lanl.gov/safety/ergonomics/docs/ergo_month.pdf online (Adobe Acrobat Reader required). More ergonomic information also is at http://ergo.lanl.gov online. Or contact Stender at keriths@lanl.gov by electronic mail. Other HeadlinesSpace Research
