Open enrollment meeting is ThursdayOctober 16, 2006
Employees can add, change coverages online
The first of several scheduled meetings for active Los Alamos National Security employees to learn about their health care coverage for 2007 is Thursday. The meeting is from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Physics Building Auditorium at Technical Area 3. Other meeting are scheduled for 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; 1 to 2 p.m.; and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., October 24 at the same location. Benefits (HR-B), United HealthCare, and Blue Cross are conducting the informational presentations for active LANS employees. Open enrollment this year is from November 6 through 30. United HealthCare continues as the Laboratory's health care employees in 2007. Employees can make changes to their health care coverage for 2007 using the self serve function in ORACLE, Human Resources Division's (HR) online system, said Ellen Fox of Benefits. During open enrollment, Lab employees can • change to a different medical plan • change participation in the Tax Savings on Insurance Premiums (TIP) program • enroll eligible family members in the health plans • enroll or re-enroll in the Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA). If currently enrolled, Lab employees must re-enroll if they wish to participate in 2007 • enroll or re-enroll in the Dependant Care Reimbursement Account (DepCare). If currently enrolled, Lab employees must re-enroll if they wish to participate in 2007 • opt out of the medical, dental and/or vision plan, or enroll in a new plan if previously opted out • cancel health plan coverage for currently enrolled family members. Fox stressed that employees who are satisfied with their current enrollments and have no changes, don't need to do anything. But if they participate in HCRA or DepCare they must re-enroll to participate in 2007. Fox said separate communications for Laboratory retirees are planned, and include meetings today and Tuesday in nearby communities. Information on 2007 employee health-care premiums and open enrollment will be published in the Daily NewsBulletin and through other communications venues.
