Work set for weekend at Diamond-Jemez parking lotJanuary 13, 2006
Gas line installation project
Preparation work for construction of a new section of natural gas line is scheduled to begin this weekend in the northwest corner of the parking lot east of Diamond Drive at East Jemez Road. The work will re-route the parking lot road and construction barriers will be installed to isolate the construction in the lot. “The gas line is being re-routed to accommodate future road construction for the security perimeter project,” said Mark Harris of Deployed Services (PM-DS). A few parking spaces will be temporarily closed off to allow the new pipe trench to be excavated. The pedestrian walk path from the park-and-ride bus drop off area also will be re-routed around the work site. Construction of the new gas line is scheduled to start the week of Jan. 23 and should be completed March 5, weather permitting. Harris added that KSL Services' roads and grounds shop will be relocating to Sigma Mesa down Eniwetok Road. “This means that approximately 100 employees that normally park in the lot will relocate. This should more than compensate for the parking spaces temporarily lost due to the gas line construction,” he said. For more information, contact Harris at 5-4466. Other Headlines
