What a cool career!March 11, 2009
Opportunity for young students
A chance to hear career experiences and what it takes to find fulfillment in a chosen profession are just a few insights for students to learn at School to World, Saturday (March 14) at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The Lab is a cosponsor of the event. School to World gives local eighth- and ninth-grade students a chance to meet career professionals and gain advice about what they need to succeed. "This is the second year that the Lab is cosponsoring the School to World conference and I think it is a great opportunity to let students know about the exciting work that we do at the national laboratories," said Janelle Vigil-Maestas of the Community Programs Office (CPO). "I'm hoping that we can get students excited about a career in science." For more information, go to School to World. To participate as a presenter, contact Vigil-Maestas at 5-4329. School to World is a business, government, and education partnership event where students meet one-on-one with professionals to learn what they need to study to achieve their own career dreams.
