New issue of Currents now available

June 9, 2008

The June issue of Currents should be distributed to all employees by midweek.

This latest issue of the Laboratory's employee publication features a cover article highlighting Bradbury Science Museum Director Linda Deck and the career path that led her to Los Alamos.

Also featured are articles on Tom Vestrand of Space Science and Applications, the Lab's "robodoc" who adds an exciting twist to astronomy research; Felicia Taw of Inorganic, Isotope, and Actinide Chemistry, one of this year's LANL stars; and Donna Leshne of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, who facilitates communication through her sign-language-interpreting skills.

Dick Watkins, associate director of the Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality Directorate, shares his thoughts on workers being the key to safety programs in a "My View" column, and the Laboratory's new Safety Web page is previewed in an "Our Goals" brief.

To read these and other articles, pick up the June Currents. It's as close as your employee mailbox. And when you're finished with it, drop it in a green recycling bin.
