Memorial service Saturday for retiree Hansen

February 1, 2008

A memorial service for Laboratory retiree Wayne Hansen is scheduled for Saturday in Rio Rancho. Hansen, 68, died January 27.

The service is at 11 a.m., in Calvary Lutheran Church, 305 Unser Blvd. in Rio Rancho. Hansen came to the Laboratory in 1977 in the former Health (H) Division, retiring in 2000.

Hansen earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, a master's degree in radiation biophysics from the University of Kansas, and a doctorate in radiation biology from Colorado State.

Survivors include his wife Nancy, sons Richard of White Rock and William of Los Lunas, daughter-in-law Leslie Hansen of Ecology and Air Quality (ENV-EAQ), brother Gary Hansen, and sister Rita Des Forges both of Wisconsin.
