Holiday Drive ends Thursday

By Steve Sandoval

December 10, 2007

Reaching out

More than 1,000 children, seniors, and families will have a brighter holiday thanks to the generosity of Laboratory employees and organizations participating in the annual Holiday Drive.

Toys, clothes, and nonperishable food items are collected for those in need. The Community Programs Office (CPO) coordinates the holiday giving program, which also includes an Adopt-a-Family component.

Some holidays tags remain available, and fewer than 10 families are available for adoption. Employees and organizations are reminded to return their holiday tags and Adopt-a-Family gifts as soon as possible this week to Community Programs or one of the collection boxes around the Lab.

Collection sites for this year's Holiday Drive are at the following locations:

• Otowi Building cafeteria lobby
• S-Site at TA-16/Applied Engineering & Technology (AET) Division Office
• Technology Transfer (TT) Division, 2237 Trinity Drive, Technical Area 0
• Access Center at Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Building, TA-3
• Access Center at TA-55
• TRK Building, 195 East Road
• Community Programs Office, 1619 Central Ave., Los Alamos
• Acquisition Services Management Office, 125 Central Park Square, Los Alamos
• KSL drop-off point is the Project Management and General Manager's offices, TA-3, Building 38. Contact Marie McClard at 7-3751 for more information.

Community Programs is celebrating the end of the Holiday Drive with an open house from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

For more information about the Holiday Drive, the Adopt-a-Family programs, and other giving opportunities, such as LANL Laces, contact Community Programs at 5-4400.
