Volunteer Fair planned at Otowi Building

By Krista D. Black

April 24, 2007

Part of Volunteer Month

The Community Programs Office (CPO) is sponsoring a Volunteer Fair from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday in Otowi Building side rooms A, B, and C.

This event is part of the Laboratory’s support of National Volunteer Month in April. Non-profit organizations in the area that are looking for volunteers will be at the Lab to talk about their programs and recruit potential volunteers, said Linda Anderman of Community Programs.

Among the participating organizations scheduled to attend the fair are United Way of Northern New Mexico, the Santa Fe Alliance for Science, Odyssey Healthcare, Court Appointed Special Advocates - First Judicial District, VolunteerMatch, Habitat for Humanity, CETUSA, a foreign exchange students program, Santa Fe Rape Crisis and Trauma treatment center, Mountain Canine Corps Search and Rescue, and Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corp.

All of the organizations participating in the fair are registered on VolunteerMatch, said Anderman.

For more information about VolunteerMatch, see the April 16 Daily NewsBulletin.

Contact Community Programs at 5-9196 or write to volunteermatch@lanl.gov by electronic mail for more information about the Volunteer Fair.
