Lab technology can assist in underground rescues

A Laboratory developed technology may soon help save lives of people trapped in underground accidents. The Laboratory signed licensing agreements with Vital Alert Technologies Inc. for Los Alamos' Underground RadioTM, a technology that will provide Through-The-Earth CommunicationTM, (two-way voice and text) for first responders, rescue and security teams, underground miners, and the public in critical emergency situations around the world.

County's water quality report available
Los Alamos County recently released its 2005 Drinking Water Quality Report. The report provides detailed information on the quality of the drinking water in Los Alamos.
Laboratory statement on beryllium finding
Low levels of beryllium were discovered during a deconstruction and demolition phase of Building 210 at Technical Area 21 on DP Road in town. The Laboratory is investigating the source of the beryllium.
Portion of Diamond Drive closed this weekend
Access to Diamond Drive from the intersection of Diamond Drive and East and West Jemez roads is prohibited Saturday evening through Monday morning because of a Laboratory operational requirement.
