Anthrax relatives non-friendly but non-lethal

A Laboratory team working as part of the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute has explored the genomes of non-lethal bacteria closely related to the cause of anthrax, Bacillus anthracis. A paper in this month's Journal of Bacteriology describes the genomic sequencing and comparative analysis of Bacillus thuringiensis 97-27 and Bacillus cereus E33L.
