Skin cancer screenings to be offered at Lab

Summer in the southwest is hot and sunny and individuals may be at higher risk for skin cancer if proper precautions are ignored. To help raise awareness of the importance of protecting skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, Occupational Medicine (HSR-2) is offering free skin screenings June 6-17 at various locations around the Laboratory.


Fire season has arrived in Northern New Mexico
The smell of smoke and the buzz of aircraft using the Los Alamos Airport to load water and slurry recently were reminders that the summer threat of forest fires has returned to Northern New Mexico.
Diversity Cinema screening is Friday
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (HR-OEOD) is sponsoring a Diversity Cinema screening Friday in the Materials Science Laboratory Auditorium at Technical Area 3 as part of the Laboratory's observance of Gay Pride Month. Other screenings and a workshop are scheduled this month at the Lab.
Retirement planning sessions hosted by EAP
The Laboratory's Employee Assistance Program is hosting six informational sessions for workers considering or planning to retire. The free sessions begin June 9 in the Otowi Building cafeteria siderooms at Technical Area 3.
Lab subcontractor assists Taos County with arena addition
A company that provides engineering and design services on contract to the Laboratory recently assisted Taos County with an addition to its 4-H indoor arena.
