SERF’s up
A new facility that will save nearly 21 million gallons of water a year - the equivalent of about 100 households - became fully operational Tuesday at the Laboratory. The Sanitary Effluent Reclamation Facility (SERF) at Technical Area 3 will be used to further treat sanitary effluent from the Lab’s domestic wastewater treatment facility.

Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity formed
The new Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEOD) will consolidate and streamline the functions of two formerly separate offices. The merger of the Diversity (DVO) Office and the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) was effective Monday. Organizationally, it will be part of the Human Resources (HR) Division.

Informational meetings on purchase cards scheduled
As part of a Laboratory-wide effort to increase and encourage the use of purchase cards (P-cards), the Laboratory has doubled the per-transaction and monthly limits for P-cards, with even higher limits possible with division management approval.
