Lab employees' volunteer efforts to be recognized
Laboratory employees have logged more than 20,400 new hours of volunteer service through VolunteerMatch.
This summer, the Laboratory will host a "Making the Difference" event to recognize the volunteer efforts of its employees and retirees. Laboratory employees and retirees who register their volunteer service hours will receive an invitation to the event and be recognized with an appreciation gift. In addition, recognition awards will be given to the nonprofit organization the volunteer supports based on the following criteria:
• 100 to 249 hours - $100
• 250 to 500 hours - $250
• 500 hours or more - $500
In order to be recognized, employees and retirees need to register the volunteer hours they served at any non-profit 501 (c) (3) during 2007. Volunteer hours should be registered and tracked on VolunteerMatch. Registration of hours on VolunteerMatch must be completed by May 30.

VolunteerMatch is a national, non-profit organization that seeks to match non-profit and tax exempt organizations with volunteers. All Laboratory employees, contractors and retirees can access the program and look for volunteer opportunities anywhere in the United States.
