Students’ transcripts due soonThe annual transcript review process requires that current Laboratory students submit official transcripts by February 28. The annual student transcript review process enables the Education and Postdoc Program Office to monitor students’ program eligibility and ensure academic progression. Official transcripts should be sent to Brenda Montoya in the Education and Postdoc Program Office at Mail Stop M709 through interoffice mail or P.O. Random vehicle inspections expanded starting this monthBeginning this month, protective force officers and explosive detection dog teams will conduct random inspections of all vehicles entering and exiting the Laboratory. Employees are expected to follow the directions of the protective force officers during these searches. The inspections are part of a continuous analysis of key facilities to determine the potential for adversaries to introduce explosives for destructive purposes. LANL Foundation student scholarship applications dueThe Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation is accepting applications through January 19 for Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund scholarships. The Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund allows Lab employees, subcontract personnel, retirees, and the business community to donate to a fund that awards college scholarships to Northern New Mexico area students. Since the scholarship program started in 1998, more than 500 Northern New Mexico students have received more than $1.5 million in scholarship assistance through the program. Students can learn more about the program and apply for a scholarship by going to the LANL Foundation Web page at https://www.lanlfoundation.org/ online.
