Los Alamos: Secret City of the Manhattan Project is available through iTunes for free!

We let you know about it. We provided a short video so you could get a feel for what the Los Alamos: Secret City of the Manhattan Project app is all about. And now it’s finally here! (As long as you have Apple technology; but fear not, an android version is in the works). The app is located here, and it’s free. You can also search under the key words "Secret City" or "Manhattan Project" in the app store on your mobile device.

Released to coincide with the beginnings of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, the part game-part educational experience leads you through a sense of what it was like to be part of the earliest years in Los Alamos. You begin by taking a train ride up to Santa Fe and getting cleared through to the secret Laboratory. Once there, you can upgrade your “security clearance” by visiting and interacting with different sites. With photos, behind-the-scene facts, and information about the different people involved in the project, hours of fun await!

Released on May 5, as of this writing, there weren't enough reviews for a rating to appear. We would appreciate your working with the app and letting us know how we can make it even better. Please send your comments to manhattanapp@lanl.gov.
