Event Description

The fun starts at 4 p.m.

While some sort of museum dates back to the earliest days of the Laboratory, at that time it held classified material that was closely protected. It wasn’t until 1963 that the general public had a chance to learn about the Lab’s past and its current work. Later, in April of 1993, the Museum Moved to its current location downtown. We’re celebrating our 25th anniversary here so come by for a celebration!

In addition to a cake and light refreshments, speakers are scheduled to talk about the Museum’s history as well as future efforts.

Take this opportunity to visit our Pinocchio Reanimated exhibit that uses ping-pong balls to illustrate how chain reactions work. (It’s called Pinocchio because it wishes it was a “real” reactor.) Vintage photos and other historic items will be on display.

Join us on Wednesday, April 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

And while you’re here…

April 25 is also National DNA Day. Organized by the National Human Genome Research Institute, it commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project. In its honor we’ll have some special activities available all day. This day is also the 15th anniversary of National DNA Day so there is twice the reason to celebrate.
