SPECIAL SESSION:
Advanced Nuclear Fuels
A Special Technical Session will be held at REI-2005
on the topic of Non-metallic Advanced Nuclear Fuels and Related
Applications. This session will be devoted to discussions of the
usage of ceramics as so-called inert or non-fertile matrices for
nuclear fuels designed to transmute unwanted nuclear materials such
as surplus plutonium or highly-radioactive spent nuclear fuel products.
This session will also consider ceramic applications for next-generation
nuclear reactors.
