Individuals of any age, profession, or degree status are eligible to participate in the International School on Radiation Effects in Solids.

This said, the following criteria will be employed in the selection process of the Course Directors for Course students/participants:

The primary selection process criterion for students/participants involves the extent to which an individual applicant is actively involved in the field of Radiation Effects in Solids. Specifically, ALL student/participants MUST be active in some science/engineering discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.

The next selection process criterion for students/participants involves the professional status of the individual applicant. Specifically:

1. The highest preference for participation in the Course will be extended to Graduate Students who are actively seeking a Ph.D. degree in a discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.

2. The second highest preference for participation in the Course will be divided equally between Undergraduate Students, Masters Students, Post-doctoral Researchers, and Young Technical Staff Members or Young Professors who are actively working in a discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.

3. The third highest (or lowest) preference for participation in the Course will be divided between Senior Technical Staff Members and Senior Professors who are actively working in a discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.

The final selection process criterion relates to the nationality of an individual applicant. Every effort will be made by the Course Directors to select students/participants based on our desire to obtain a nationally diverse portfolio of Course students/participants.

The MAXIMUM total number of students/participants in the Course is fixed at 100.
