Individuals
of any age, profession, or degree status are eligible to participate
in the International School on Radiation Effects in Solids.
This said, the following criteria will be employed in the selection
process of the Course Directors for Course students/participants:
The primary selection process criterion for students/participants
involves the extent to which an individual applicant is actively involved
in the field of Radiation Effects in Solids. Specifically, ALL
student/participants MUST be active in some science/engineering
discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.
The next selection process criterion for students/participants
involves the professional status of the individual applicant. Specifically:
1. The highest preference for participation in the Course will be
extended to Graduate Students who are actively seeking a Ph.D. degree
in a discipline relating to Radiation Effects in Solids.
2. The second highest preference for participation in the Course will
be divided equally between Undergraduate Students, Masters Students,
Post-doctoral Researchers, and Young Technical Staff Members or Young
Professors who are actively working in a discipline relating to Radiation
Effects in Solids.
3. The third highest (or lowest) preference for participation in the
Course will be divided between Senior Technical Staff Members and
Senior Professors who are actively working in a discipline relating
to Radiation Effects in Solids.
The final selection process criterion relates to
the nationality of an individual applicant. Every effort will be made
by the Course Directors to select students/participants based on our
desire to obtain a nationally diverse portfolio of Course students/participants.
The MAXIMUM total number of students/participants
in the Course is fixed at 100.
