General
Purpose Experimental Station
The
general purpose experimental station is a highly versatile, easy-to-use
chamber for x-ray, gamma-ray, nuclear reaction analysis (NRA), Rutherford
Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS), and elastic recoil detection
(ERD) techniques, as well as for high-energy implantation with beams
from the tandem accelerator. The chamber is equipped with a five-axis,
computer-controlled goniometer for sample changing and channeling
measurements. The experimental station is under the direction of
Joe Tesmer, Materials Science and Technology
Division.
