Awards

2016 Cheves T. Walling Graduate Research Award, University of Utah

The Cheves T Walling Graduate Research Award is the recognition of outstanding contributions to graduate chemical research at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. The chemistry graduate education committee selects best student completing outstanding research.  David Baumann is the recipient of this award in the year 2015. The national and international scientific community recognizes this award as a very noteworthy one given the quality and standards set by the graduate students in the University of Utah.

2008-2010 New Century Scholarship

New Century Scholarship recipients have demonstrated advanced academic achievement in collegiate course enrollments. Students who accumulate 60 collegiate credits as high school students may apply to the New Century Scholarship program. This scholarship honors students who have pursued advanced academic rigor through a collegiate course of study. Students who select to attend "The Southern Utah Center for Computers, Engineering and Science Students" (SUCCESS Academy) have an increased academic focus in collegiate STEM courses. New Century Scholarship recipients receive scholarship monies dedicated towards the completion of selected collegiate degrees. The New Century Scholarship covered 75% of my undergraduate tuition.

2010 Outstanding Major Award – Chemistry in the Department of Physical Science, Southern Utah University

The Outstanding Major Award – Chemistry in the Department of Physical Science is given to the most outstanding senior student in the chemistry department in a given year as judged by departmental faculty members.

2009 NASA Rocky Mountain Space Consortium Scholarship

Students in the engineering and science fields are selected to receive this scholarship based on recommendations of their professors.

2009 Outstanding Freshman Award – Chemistry in the Department of Physical Science, Southern Utah University

The Outstanding Freshman Award – Chemistry is given to the most outstanding freshman student in the chemistry department in a given year as judged by departmental faculty members.
