Expertise

Brian M. Patterson, Ph.D. is an analytical chemist specializing in materials characterization and capability development within the Engineered Materials Group of the Materials Science and Technology Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has 17 years of analytical experience and uses these technologies to answer challenging materials science questions of importance to both the global security and the nuclear weapons complex. Additionally he has several years of line management experience at the team leader level to communicate priorities up and down the management line, oversee budgets, and observe performance. Finally, he serves on the editorial board of Microscopy Today. Before returning to graduate school, he was a high school science teacher (Chemistry, Physics and General Science).
