Atomic Magnetometer Micro Imaging

Enhances the resolution of an optically pumped magnetometer (OPM) by combining it with magnetic flux guides (FGs).

Benefits/Features

  • Simultaneous High Resolution and Magnetic-Field Sensitivity Combination- Provides enhanced resolution by guiding the magnetic flux from a small source of magnetic field to an ultra-sensitive atomic magnetometer.
  • Simple Turn Key Non-Cryogenic Operation- The non-cryogenic device has an advantage over state-of-the-art SQUID-based magnetic microscopes. The FG-OPM device measures fields of 10 pt with resolution of 0.1 mm, and is thus capable of detecting magnetic fields of a single neuron, a single magnetic nano-particle, and many other objects.
  • Large Number of Novel Applications- Single neuron and magnetic nano-particle detection. Enables magnetic micro-imaging in general, including non-destructive tests.
