Waste at LANL

Minimization

Minimization of waste lowers operating and disposal costs, and enhances the safety of operations, and assures that mission work can be accomplished without waste or regulatory-related delays.

Treatment & Disposal

LANL provides treatment, storage and disposal pathways for permanent disposition of both operations and R&D waste streams. Waste management options vary depending upon the type of waste generated

Waste Compliance

The Laboratory manages regulatory compliance for liquid and solid wastes, underground storage tanks, and polychlorinated biphenyls by working with regulators and internal customers.
