Overview

SWEIS Overview

The Site-Wide Environmental Impact Statement for Continued Operation of Los Alamos National Laboratory (SWEIS) analyzes the potential environmental impacts associated with continuing ongoing LANL operations and foreseeable new and modified operations and facilities.

The SWEIS forms the backbone of NEPA documentation for LANL's continued facility operations. The document categorized many LANL operations as 'key facilities' and described and analyzed these operations and capabilities in some detail. LANL's actual performance is measured against projections contained in the SWEIS and the evaluations are included in the SWEIS yearbooks.
