Carbon Footprint

illustrated handshakeReducing Your Carbon Footprint

The Carbon Footprint Calculator developed by LANL provides a better understanding of your carbon footprint based on your utility bills, an estimate of the number of gallons of gasoline you use per month, and the number of air miles you fly.

The database, hosted by the New Mexico Consortium, surveys end-users to record their understanding of the energy-development-climate challenge, to estimate their carbon footprint, and showcase their efforts to reduce their footprint by increasing efficiency and developing renewable resources. By displaying information at all scales, from resources to generation to end-use, the New Mexico Consortium hopes to highlight the system as it is, what needs to be done to transform it, and what is being done.
