Radioactive NESHAP Program

Compliance Air Monitoring at LANL Firing Sites

The AIRNET program measures levels of radioactive material in the ambient air around the LANL perimeter and at selected stations on LANL property. In response to recent public inquiries, a policy statement for siting AIRNET stations (pdf) has been developed.

Notes on 2005 LANSCE Emissions

The emissions of radioactive gases from the LANSCE facility in calendar year 2005 were elevated above recent years. Factors include the longer beam operations cycle in 2005 over recent years, as well as degradation of pollution controls devices in both the target water coolant system and the air emissions control system. The situation was handled according to the Emissions Management Plan for LANSCE (pdf).
