FeatureEnhance Your Chance!Be one of the first students to process your application on-line. Los Alamos National Laboratory is hiring hundreds of new employees both in the technical and in the administrative categories. Many of the Laboratory's long time scientific contributors are nearing retirement age. It is vital that their accumulated knowledge is transferred to the next generation of Laboratory employees. We find that it benefits the Laboratory if we "grow our own", that is find quality students and bring them to the Laboratory during their undergraduate and graduate years where they can begin learning about Laboratory programs and gain vital experience in their field of choice. Finding and matching up the best student candidates with Laboratory mentors helps the Laboratory meet its' long term hiring objectives. You can become a part of this pipeline development process by visiting the Jumpstart section of this site. Jumpstart provides you an opportunity to apply to the Laboratory for available student opportunities or to conduct a search through our student postings database for opportunities in your field. When you find an opportunity that addresses your needs and interests, you can submit your interest directly to the database where the Laboratory staff member that posted the position is notified. This provides a more direct connection between the staff member and the student applicant. If you do not find an opportunity that is of interest, you have two options: one you can submit an on-line application so your name is on file, and two, you can revisit the Jumpstart site frequently as new opportunities are being posted and filled everyday. The wait is worth it. Your experiences working at the Laboratory will prepare you for your future career in the field of science, mathematics, computers, or engineering. Top of page |
