The DSN-CC Project is developing a network of nodes with sensing, communications and computation capabilities. Each DSN node runs a program that senses its environment, listens for transmissions from neighbors, computes, and transmits—all without a central control point.

Unlike a centralized approach through which all data must pass, the DSN-CC approach saves communication bandwidth, provides redundancy, eliminates single-point failures, and delivers conclusions rapidly to users.

The DSN-CC Project is part of the Space Data Systems Group (ISR-3) of the International, Space & Response Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
