March 8: Santa Fe Chamber Orientation

The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce is hosting a breakfast for entrepreneurs, small business owners, local managers or other Santa Feans interested in finding out how joining the chamber can help grow their business and network.

March 8: Raspberry Pi Club

Stop by the Raspberry Pi club at Los Alamos Makers to learn how small affordable Raspberry Pi computers can help teach the basic teachings of computer science. People with all levels of experience are welcome.

March 10: Scientist in the Spotlight

Join materials scientist Bev Aikin and aquatic biology expert Jane Clements at the Bradbury Science Museum as they talk about how materials are manipulated and what might be living in the nearest puddle or pond.

Project Y and the Small Business Development Center in Los Alamos host a workshop to help small businesses develop their digital media and social media skills.

March 12: Deadline for Venture Acceleration Fund applications

Applications from Northern New Mexican technology and manufacturing firms close March 12 for 2018 awards from the Venture Acceleration Fund (VAF).

March 13: Laboratory 75th Anniversary Celebration

The Bradbury Science Museum hosts a celebration to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of Los Alamos National Laboratory. The new Laboratory Director Terry Wallace will say a few words, and the Bradbury Science Museum Association will be selling official apparel sporting the new anniversary logo, with the proceeds going to STEM education initiatives.

March 19: Science On Tap: Energy to explore deep space

The UnQuarked Wine Room in Los Alamos hosts this informal talk from the Laboratory's Patrick McClure about his team's work developing a very small and simple nuclear reactor that NASA hopes can be used to power space exploration where solar power isn't feasible.

March 21: 3rd Annual Northern New Mexico Expo

Come learn about the degrees and courses offered at Northern New Mexico College. The Expo will also offer hands-on STEM activities and a job fair.

March 22: Northern New Mexico Kids Count Conference

NM Voices for Children and other partners are coming together for the Northern New Mexico Kids Count conference, focused on starting conversations about improving the well-being of children.

March 23: Twilight Hike at Cerrillos Hills State Park

Experience a sunset splash of color and watch the moonrise on this guided hike at Cerrillos Hills State Park off the Turquoise Trail north of Madrid.

March 28: SBIR/STTR Proposal Development Working Session

If you are working on a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) proposal, join the NM FAST team at this session at Project Y for some one-to-one feedback and advice.
