U.S. Senator Heinrich visits the Lab
In his first visit since taking office as New Mexico’s newest U.S. senator, Martin Heinrich spent time at the Laboratory last month discussing a variety of topics with Director Charlie McMillan.
Heinrich, who has a background in environmental and science issues, received briefings on the Lab’s science, technology and engineering programs, budget and procurement activities, as well as a weapons and global security programs overview. While on site he toured the Lab’s Radiological Laboratory Utility Office Building.
Heinrich’s staffers received additional briefings on topics, including the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center and the work of the Community Programs Office.
