Title: Reionization by Early Stars and Galaxies: Theory and Observations Author(s): Michael Fall Abstract: In this talk, we review existing calculations and present new calculations of the ioninzing output of stellar populations with different ages, metallicities, and IMFs. We also compare these claculations with observations of galaxies in the Hubble Ultra-Deep Field. (updating earlier work by Stiavelli, Fall, and Panagia). We also present predictions for proposed observations with the new camera (WFPC3) to be installed on HST during the next servicing mission.
