Jefferson Lab to host BIW12 workshop

The next and last in the Beam Instrumentation Workshop (BIW) series will be held in Newport News, Virginia, April 15-19, 2012. BIW12 will be hosted by Jefferson Lab (Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility).

After BIW12, the BIW series will be combined with its counterparts in Europe and Asia and will be called the International Beam Instrumentation Conference (IBIC) and will follow the PAC rotation.

2010 Beam Instrumentation Workshop

The 2010 Beam Instrumentation Workshop (BIW10) was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on
May 2-6, 2010. Sponsored by Los Alamos National Laboratory, this 14th biennial BIW workshop was dedicated to exploring the physics and engineering challenges of beam diagnostic and measurement techniques for charged particle accelerators. The meeting features were

  • plenary and poster sessions,
  • tutorials,
  • vendor exhibits,
  • multiple opportunities for informal discussions and collaborations, and
  • the 2010 Faraday Cup Award recipients' presentation, sponsored by Bergoz, Inc., France.
