The Department of Energy's (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration and Office of Science are sponsoring the following graduate fellowships:

Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (SSGF): The SSGF is open to any U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien planning full-time, uninterrupted study toward a doctoral degree at an accredited U.S. university. Those eligible to apply include senior undergraduate students and first- and second-year graduate students focusing their studies on high energy density physics, nuclear science or properties of materials under extreme conditions and hydrodynamics. Applications are now being accepted for the DOE NNSA Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship. Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (CSGF): Students must be planning full-time, uninterrupted study toward a Ph.D. degree at an accredited U.S. university. Students in their first year of graduate study in engineering, mathematics, or the physical, computer or life sciences are eligible to apply for the Computational Science Graduate Fellowship. Senior undergraduates who can meet all the requirements listed in the application may also apply. Applications are now open and will be accepted through Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program: The goal of the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is to prepare graduate students for science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission by providing graduate thesis research opportunities at DOE laboratories. Applications are now open for the Office of Science Graduate Student Research program. The deadline for electronic application submission is November 21, 2016 at 5:00 pm EST.
