The Backup Script

Abstract:

The Backup script is a perl script that is used to make a backup tar file of a directory tree. It can be directed to exclude files or portions of the tree. It will also direct output to HPSS (a LANL storage device). It optionally encrypts the backup file.

Postcript and DVI versions of the documentation are available, as well as the perl source code, and a gzipped tar file of the entire HTML node (includes LaTeX, PS, DVI and perl source).
